Kew Sparkle 2021

The atmosphere was electric, the music uplifting, lights twinkling in the trees, and even the weather was kind! On Friday 3rd December, Kew Sparkle, the highly anticipated community Christmas event, returned to the village to set the scene for Christmas 2021!

An event for all ages, the queues for the funfair and Santa's Grotto (and for the mulled wine!) snaked around the block, and the Snow King and Queen were impossible to miss. New this year, the petting zoo proved a hit, with a few lucky children even getting to feed the lambs! The huge variety of stalls and street food had something for everyone, and Kew's independent shops joined in the fun too!

The wonderful choirs of Kew's primary schools started the festive music for the evening, drawing huge crowds. The Rock Choir and Thames TV Big Band got everyone in the festive spirit with their upbeat Christmas arrangements, and Nicky Patrick made her debut Kew Sparkle appearance as our fantastic compere.

Kew Sparkle is organised by a volunteer committee to raise money for a local charity. For 2021, our chosen charity was the Vineyard Community Centre (VCC) which helps the most vulnerable in the local community overcome personal crises. The committee is pleased to announce that a donation of £1500 has been made to the VCC as a result of Kew Sparkle 2021!

We would like to thank the local community for their enormous support, as well as the local primary schools, volunteers on the night, stallholders, and local businesses. See you at Kew Sparkle 2022 on Friday 2nd December!
